Tallman Tower, a seven-story residential apartment building, consists of 83 units of affordable housing. Known for its stunning views of the Hudson River, Tallman is located in the heart of vibrant downtown Nyack, New York, and is within walking distance of the local amenities, including bus service, shops and restaurants.
During the acquisitions process, with the support of the local community and working hand in hand with the Nyack Housing Authority, Marathon ensured Tallman Tower Apartments remained affordable.
Marathon updated the building, giving it a fresh, contemporary feel, matching the vibe of downtown Nyack. A sleek, modern steel and glass canopy was added over the main entrance. Interior common areas all received updated finishes including flooring, paint, signage, etc. Durable, low-maintenance, but contemporary materials were used to make all common areas feel like new again. Unit interiors were totally renovated with new kitchens including all wood cabinetry, new counters, and Energy Star appliances and lighting. All bathrooms were updated with various new finishes and all new water-conserving fixtures and new lighting. The remainder of the areas within the apartments all received new wood/vinyl flooring, paint, lever handle door hardware, new electrical devices, new life safety systems such as hardwired smoke/CO detectors and child guards.
