Prospect Avenue Apartments consists of two mixed-use buildings that were constructed in 2010 as part of the New Cassel Urban Renewal Plan under the Town’s ‘Smart Growth’ initiative. The buildings, which are located on two non-contiguous parcels on Prospect Avenue, contain 50 apartment units, plus ground floor retail/professional space.
The apartments include the following; 2 studio units, 16 one-bedroom units and 32 two-bedroom units. The renovation also created a large lobby, community room and laundry room on the first floor. Six of the units are restricted to households earning no more than 50% of the Area Median Income, and the balance are restricted to 60% of the Area Median Income. The commercial space is occupied by a locally-owned and operated supermarket, and several medical/professional providers.
