Katherine Ferri-Balbuena serves as Controller for the Marathon Development Group affordable housing portfolio, overseeing the firm’s accounting function and financial reporting across its LIHTC and subsidized housing assets. She is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable affordable housing program requirements, including HUD and tax credit regulations.
In this role, Katherine leads portfolio and property level financial reporting and works closely with the property management and asset management teams to monitor operating performance and support informed decision making. Katherine also serves as the primary liaison with the company’s external CPA firm and partners with senior leadership to enhance financial transparency and support strategic initiatives.
Katherine is a graduate of Pace University and began her career at Marks Paneth Shron, LLP, where she gained extensive experience auditing highly regulated non-profit organizations. She brings a strong background in financial reporting, compliance, and financial analysis to Marathon’s affordable housing portfolio.
